My Journey From Silence to Sound Medicine
Ten years ago, I was living a life that looked successful from the outside… but inside, I felt like a shell of myself. I was working as a fashion designer, hiding behind beautiful clothes while quietly withering from the inside out.
At the time, I was diagnosed with a thyroid autoimmune disease, what I now understand as the physical manifestation of my suppressed voice. Doctors told me I'd be on medication for the rest of my life or I would die.
But something in me refused that narrative.
My soul whispered, “There is another way”.
I walked away from my career, my relationship, and everything that wasn't aligned with my truth. I went searching for my voice… not just vocally, but spiritually.
At first, my voice hardly had strength. I had spent years swallowing my words, people-pleasing, holding back emotion, and feeling afraid to be "too much."
But then… something cracked open.
I started to make sounds I had never let myself make.
I screamed. I sobbed. I wailed. I chanted. I sang.
What emerged was not just a voice, but years and lifetimes of repression coming through my throat.
I began singing the unsung. Sounding the unspeakable. Voicing the void.
And as I did, my body began to heal. My energy returned. My creativity flowed. And one day, I realized:
